Beach Bike Tours offers educational programs for students in grades 4 – 12. As a walking or biking tour students go into the past to visit the places where history happened.
Where did the first electoral vote take place in America?
What was the New Deal Program under FDR?
Why is the cape at the north end of Virginia Beach named Henry?
How far does the influence of salt water travel?
What is a speakeasy?
Who were the Algonquians?
Beach Bike Tours visits locations rich in the history of Virginia’s role in our nation’s new beginnings from Powhatan to Prohibition, from the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790’s to the New Deal Program in the 1930’s.
The tour’s purpose is to promote pertinence to the people and events in our country’s past by taking students to the places where history occurred, awakening a sense of connection. The delivery is interactive, the content is alive.
We will be happy to send an outline detailing the wide range of topics covered, as well as an itinerary of the stops. Bikes and helmets are provided. We keep an easy pace on level terrain.
